The main part of the Permian Building demolition began in March, 2007.

Gihls Tower and Vaughn Building
Building of the Southwest (at left, vacant), Gihls Tower, and Vaughn Building. You can see the water storage tank atop the Gihls Tower. The Vaughn Building is scheduled to be turned into a condominium building called the Midland Skytower.

Heading to the right is the Midland Savings Building (vacant, scheduled for demolition) and the Gihls Tower. In the foreground is the Building of the Southwest (vacant) and the Vaughn Building. The street is Big Spring Street.
