The
main part of the Permian Building demolition began in March, 2007.

Rear of the building before demolition begins on the side.

Beginning to demolish the side of the Permian building. The "PERMIAN
BUILDING" letters were salvaged from the front of the building but they
did not attempt to salvage any other architectural details.

Building of the Southwest (at left, vacant), Gihls Tower, and Vaughn
Building. You can see the water storage tank atop the Gihls Tower. The
Vaughn Building is scheduled to be turned into a condominium building
called the Midland Skytower.

At left is the Western United Life Building (vacant.) To the south,
behind the Western United Life building is the Wall Tower West (still
in use). Heading to the right is the Midland Savings Building (vacant,
scheduled for demolition) and the Gihls Tower. In the foreground is the
Building of the Southwest (vacant) and the Vaughn Building. The street
is Big Spring Street.
