Texas Recycles Day, 2005
by Chad Hauris, Retro Electronics and Audio Lab, Midland, TX. 11/18/05
We are the official recyclers of electronics at Texas Recycles Day in
Midland, TX. We are able to restore a lot of the collected items to
usefulness so they can again do their part. What cannot be fixed, we
are able to salvage many useable parts. This effort promotes recycling,
reuse, and historical preservation. Thanks so much again to Keep
Midland Beautiful for allowing us to participate in T.R.D.

Collecting the recyclables at the location. We will have stories of the restoration of these reclaimed items in the near future.

These items were reclaimed from the recycle days and work well: An Oil
Rig music box and Panasonic Quintrix color TV. The TV will need the
controls cleaned but is otherwise OK.

We will be working on replacing the coolant gel in the projection TV. It works, but is dim.

Here is the trusty Dodge van loaded with recycled items. I'm still working on unloading it a week later!

The Tommy Lift truck got into action too. I have successfully restored some of the computers to function with Slackware Linux.

Getting ready to take the TV's to the barn at home.

Chad testing out the 1978 RCA color TV.

We also got this Heathkit tuner which matches our amps and preamps.
